Grant Molony

“The arts scene in the Coast is really starting to flourish. There seems to be a real growing interest in the arts within the community. It’s great to see the enthusiasm and support from locals.”

Growing up in The North Entrance, Grant has been making art his whole life. Looking through his remarkable catalogue of diverse work, Grant dabbles in photography (surfing, commercial and wedding), painting, and illustration.

With his family all still living in the Central Coast area, Grant claims he can’t imagine living anywhere but here. “It’s home, it’s where my origins are plus a beautiful place where I’m excited to raise my family”.

Just over 12 months ago, Grant opened his own gallery on the Central Coast. This space not only provides him with a personal retreat to focus on his art and interact with the community, but also allows him to support the local arts community by providing a place for local exhibitions, encouraging collaborations of local artists in this cultural hub.

Community is key to Grant’s life. He works both independently and alongside others in a range of community activities such as art classes, and surfing clubs (for both semi professional and children), using his skills in photography and art. He is also a passionate body boarder.

Grant currently lives in the thriving neighbourhood of Long Jetty with his young family.

You can find Grant at the Grant Molony Gallery in Long Jetty and read more about arts and culture on the Central Coast.
